After earning her D.M.D. in 1994 and performing a residency at the Veterans Administration hospital in Loma Linda, Dr. Niakiani completed three years of postdoctoral periodontic studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. There she gained extensive experience in guided tissue and bone regeneration, mucogingival periodontal plastic surgery, dental implants, osseous surgery and oral pathology. Before pursuing her education in dentistry and periodontics, Dr. Niakiani received a Bachelor of Science in biology and minor in psychology from the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Mella is married to husband Joe and is blessed with four kids, Hailey, Daniel, Abigail and Nicholas. Dr. Mella’s family is growing, adding two more dogs, Binkie and Coco.
In 1994, Dr. Friedman was invited to join the faculty of the Misch International Implant Institute. In 2005, Dr. John Suzuki, a faculty member of the Misch Institute and Associate Dean of Temple University, asked Dr. Friedman to join the faculty of Temple. Dr. Friedman has, and continues to maintain positions at both institutions.
Dr. Friedman has worked and mentored in many private dental practices across the United States, and has placed and/or restored more than 10,000 implants. He is currently licensed in five (5) states: California, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas.
